Understand the secretary role before appointing officers for your new company. Use this guide to prepare your questions and information before applying.
A secretary is required
An Irish company needs a company secretary. For a single-director LTD, the secretary must be a different person or suitable corporate secretary. The appointment is part of the information needed for incorporation.
Choose someone able to carry out the role
The role includes supporting statutory records and filings. Directors remain responsible for company compliance. Discuss the scope if you engage a professional secretary rather than assuming every filing is covered.
Keep officer records accurate
Changes to officers must be notified through the appropriate CRO process. Keep appointments, resignations and the supporting records organised. Ask about deadlines when a change is planned.
Our formation support
We prepare officer documentation within the relevant package scope. Ongoing company secretary services can be discussed separately with the team.
