Start with your circumstances
Write down who will be a director, where each person lives, whether the relevant identification is available, and which Irish address the company will use. Next, identify the shareholders and intended business activity. These answers are more useful to the formation team than a preferred package name. An unresolved director or address question can change the scope of support you need.
Ask what the order actually covers
Our formation packages have different inclusions. Treat the comparison as a scope of work: ask which identity, address and post-incorporation tasks are covered. Do not infer an inclusion from a package label. Keep a dated copy of the confirmed scope alongside your receipt so the person managing the new company can see what was purchased.
Separate paperwork from decisions
A provider can prepare documents from your instructions, but your founders still need to agree ownership and appointments. For example, two founders who have chosen a name but not a share split are not ready to approve a final constitution. Settle that discussion with appropriate advice before asking the team to prepare documents that may need rewriting.
Give every later task an owner
Ask who handles the first annual return, beneficial ownership filing, tax registration and any renewals. Put the answers in one handover note. A service being available does not mean you ordered it. If an accountant will take over after incorporation, involve them now so their responsibilities and the formation provider’s responsibilities meet without a gap.
Your practical checklist
- Who are the directors, and where are they resident?
- Which identification route applies to each relevant person?
- What is the Irish registered office?
- Who owns the shares, and in what proportions?
- Which services are expressly included?
- What renewals and running costs remain?
- Who owns each task after incorporation?
