A renewal plan for a non-resident Irish company

A non-resident formation is easier to maintain when renewals are planned from day one. Track each service by its own period, evidence and owner rather than treating the package as a permanent arrangement.

Separate the service periods

The listed Non-Resident package includes a two-year bond; address services have their own arrangements. Record the actual dates from your confirmed documents. Two services ordered around the same time may not share an expiry date, renewal price or cancellation process. Keep them on separate lines in the company’s administration calendar.

Review before asking for renewal

Before bond coverage ends, reassess the director-residency route with an adviser. Before renewing an address, review whether it still suits the company’s correspondence needs. A review is an opportunity to confirm the right arrangement, not permission to let a requirement lapse while deciding. Set an early enough reminder to complete the assessment and any necessary next step.

Keep contact and payment details current

Ask the provider how renewal notices are sent and who must approve the work. Use a monitored company contact and ensure the responsible person can act while the founder is travelling. Do not assume an old payment method or a forgotten personal inbox will keep the service operating. Record the quote, approval and completion evidence.

Connect renewals to the compliance calendar

Alongside renewals, keep annual returns, ownership updates and tax tasks visible to the appropriate people. Label who handles each task and which supporting information they need. For example, the accountant may manage tax work while another provider handles an address; neither necessarily monitors the other’s renewal. A shared overview prevents that assumption from becoming a gap.

Your practical checklist

  • Record actual coverage and service dates
  • Set reminders before expiry with enough decision time
  • Review the continuing director and address arrangements
  • Confirm renewal scope, price and completion
  • Maintain a monitored contact and backup approver
